Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children –  Ransom Riggs

Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar children is about a boy named Jacob, who’s grandfather used to tell him magnificent stories of young children who possessed unique powers, uncommonly possessed by man, such as the ability to fly, or to shoot fire straight out of your hand. As Jacob grew up, he grew out of his grandfathers exaggerated tales, but after his grandfather’s sudden unexplained death, weird things start to happen. While Jacob searches for the cause of his grandfather’s murder, he finds out that the stories he was told as a young boy are not as exaggerated as he believed.

This book has an intense plotline and unlike my first book, takes a bit more focus to follow along; never the less I enjoyed this book, much as I did with other fantasy books I have read in the past. When I bought this book I actually believe it was a single novel, so I am looking forward to reading the next two books of this series.
