The Rosie Project – Graeme Simsion
The Rosie Project is about a man named Dom who’s a bit different than everyone else. Dom is a high ranked very intelligent genealogist, his only issue is that he sometimes has trouble empathizing with people’s feelings. Pushing forty and single, Dom is ready to find a wife, but when he finds no one compatible with him he makes a questionnaire, which he names “The Wife Project”, to find the perfect woman for him. When he meets Rosie he’s surprised. Smoker, makeup, barmaid, disorganized, pescatarian, the list goes on, there is no way they are even compatible. But when Rosie brings a genetics project to Dom’s attention they work together to find the identity of Rosie’s unknown father. Maybe the oddest combinations are good together after all.
I really really enjoyed this book. The author did a good job of creating suspense and curiousity that there were many parts where I was really tempted to just skip to the end and find out who Rosie’s dad was. I absolutely loved the ending of the book, probably more than I liked the plot itself. I thought it was the perfect conclusion to the story and it was such twist to what was expected it caught me completely off guard. I would definitely without a doubt look at some of the other books from this author.
I absolutely loved this book too, funny, poignant, and a reminder that there is someone for everyone and to always look for the good in people…you might be surprised!
