Digital Footprint
How might your digital footprint affect your future oppertunities?
- My digital footprint will affect my future opportunities, if I choose to show passion in it, it will get me to somewhere I want. Photo by rawpixel.com from Pexels

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
- The first strategy that I can use, is to think, ‘is what I’m posting useful to others? Is it something that needs to be posted (important)?’
- The second strategy that I can use, is to think, ‘Is what I’m posting not hurtful to others? Am I being nice in my posts? Am I using appropriate language?’ (check over post before posting).
- The last strategy that I can use, is to make sure that I cite anything I used and to make sure I’ve given the person credit in my posts..Photo by Tracy Le Blanc from Pexels
What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?
I learned that posting something can get onto the internet and can never be removed. If you posted something on social media it’ll show up if you search your name or social media account and go to images. It’s good for other students to know that they should always think twice before posting something. They should always be respectful, show kindness, and use appropriate language in their posts. If someone becomes famous, the public and society will search their name on the internet and try to find bad things about that famous person. If you have a bad digital footprint, life will become incredibly hard and it can cause you to not get a job. So if you have a clean, appropriate, and safe digital footprint it will get you to good places.Photo by rawpixel.com from Pexels
To let future generations know, it would be good to have programs that teach kids about their digital footprint in middle school because that’s the age when most kids get social media and they need to know how to use it correctly.Photo by rawpixel.com from Pexels
Rapid Nation
I’m looking forward to being at Riverside with all my friends. I like how we use laptops to do our work, but when the wifi is down and not working or when something doesn’t work out right it’s really frustrating. I’m a little nervous and excited about being in grade 9 because it’s my first year in high school. Overall, I’m pretty excited.
