This week we learned how to multiply and divide radicals. For an example in multiplying you would be given something like 2 (3 – 8 + ). In this example the first thing that you would do is simplify the radicals so you would then have 2 (9 – 8 + 2), next you would do everything in the brackets and you would then get 2 (3), once you have done everything in the brackets you then multiply, and you should get 6, you would then get 6 x 5 because the square root of 25 is 5. Your final answer should be 30.

When dividing radicals, they are similar to fractions but you cannot leave a radical in the denominator. For example you would have + – divided by . The first thing that you would do is simply divide so you would then have
+ – . Then you would simplify and get 2 + 2 – 3. After subtracting your final answer should be 2 – .
