For this task we were given a set of decimals and fractions and had to order them from least to greatest. For the first set of numbers I was given, I converted the fraction 21/5 into a decimal by finding how many times 5 goes into 21, which is 4 times, then dividing 1 by 5, which gives you 0.2. so when I converted 21/5 into a decimal, I got 4.2. then all I had to do was order the rest of the decimals from least to greatest. I put the negative numbers on the lower side, and the positives on the higher side. The answer I got for my first set of numbers was -4.8, -3.9, 2.1, 21/5, and finally 5.2. These numbers were relatively easy to put in order from least to greatest because I only had to change one of the five numbers into a decimal.
For the second set of numbers I made each individual number longer with more numbers so that I could see which numbers ad the most fours, because the number with the most fours would be the lowest. I changed -0.4… to -0.444444…, and I changed -0.404… to -404404…, -0.40… to -0.404040…, -0.400… to -400400…, and -0.4 I did not change because there are no repeating numbers. Then I counted how many numbers were in each, which gave me the order -0.4…, -0.404…, -0.40…, -0.400…, and -0.4. This problem was also fairly easy to solve because I didn’t have to convert any numbers and there weren’t any positive numbers that I had to account for.
