This week we learned to use FOIL when mulitplying two binomials.
F- First numbers in each bracket
O- Outside numbers in each bracket
I- Inside numbers in each bracket
L- Last numbers in each bracket
(a+b)(c+d)
F – ac
O- ad
I- bc
L- bd

This week in math we worked on Relations and Functions. A function is where each input value only relates to one output value.
To find out whether or not something is a function, in ordered pairs you look to see if a domain number is repeated. If its repeated, then it’s not a function. In a graph you can use the vertical line test, if a vertical line in drawn on a graph and it hits more than one point then it’s not a function.
(2,3) (4,5) (7,4) (8,4) is a function
(2,3) (4,5) (2,4) (8,7) is not a function
Difference of Squares
(a-b)(a+b) = a^2 + ab – ba – b^2
The two middle terms cancel each other out and leaves (a^2 – b^2)
Difference in this context means that you’re subtracting the two squares
