Let the Moment Pass

Her threats echo through the woods

Riddled with falsehoods and ignorance

Stereotypes and entitlement fueling her every accusation

Flashback to the news articles, a new name plastered on each headline

To fight back would only lead to his confinement or demise

So, like turning a radio’s knob,

He tunes her out, in search of a new station

Let the birds’ chirps muffle her whines

Take a breath and watch the flame dissipate

Let her voice be carried off with the wind

And let the moment pass.
