Outer Qualities

All images, videos and links are put into a specific order. The ones near the top represent what most people think at first impression. The opinions of acquaintances and friends are shown as the post progresses.

Upon first glance, who am I seen as? Probably a combination of these stereotypes (skip to 2:10 to get to them):

Most assume I’m that stereotypical quiet, asian girl that gets perfect grades. In some situations I can use that to my advantage (not having to speak in class!) but it also prevents people from knowing who I truly am.

This is the very first English assignment I had in Grade 9. Based on what I had written, my teacher formed a very interesting judgement: “A mess? Really? It sounds to me that you have a rich life and strong values leading you to reach your goals — pretty wonderful for a 15 year old! You write very well Gloria — only a few errors and I can “hear” your voice!”

According to a contributor of Urban Dictionary, I have this type of personality. Honestly, I agree.

In the eyes of my online friends, they believe I am outgoing. If you know me in person, you’re probably shaking your head right now. However, in the online world, sacrificing your own time to have a chat with another is the only way to show your loyalty. Due to timezone differences, I used to stay up until 7 am, so that my friends could let out their negative emotions. In terms of school and physical health, that was not the best decision I’ve ever made, but it was definitely worth it.

Here, I’m ranting about the friends I have at school. They used to call me immature, contrary to what my other friends think:

  1. Thank you for glossing the terms like “tbh” and “irl” for me! 🙂
Great start so far, Gloria – you do a wonderful job of mixing the real-life ideas from others with your own ideas.
