Analyzing Poetry (try everything)

Try Everything

I messed up tonight
I lost another fight
I still mess up but I’ll just start again
I keep falling down
I keep on hitting the ground
I always get up now to see what’s next
Birds don’t just fly
They fall down and get up
Nobody learns without getting it won
I won’t give up, no I won’t give in
Till I reach the end
And then I’ll start again
Though I’m on the lead
I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail
I won’t give up, no I won’t give in
Till I reach the end
And then I’ll start again
No I won’t leave
I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail
Oh oh try everything
Look how far you’ve come
You filled your heart with love
Baby you’ve done enough that cut your breath
Don’t beat yourself up
Don’t need to run so fast
Sometimes we
Look how far you’ve come
You filled your heart with love
Baby you’ve done enough that cut your breath
Don’t beat yourself up
Don’t need to run so fast
Sometimes we come last but we did our best
I won’t give up, no I won’t give in
Till I reach the end
And then I’ll start again
Though I’m on the lead
I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail
I won’t give up, no I won’t give in
Till I reach the end
And then I’ll start again
No I won’t leave
I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail
I’ll keep on making those new mistakes
I’ll keep on making them every day
Those new mistakes
Oh oh, try everything

1)      This song is talking about encourages people to try everything, make mistakes along the way by recognizing that mistakes are part of learning, especially when you are trying out something new.

2)      Gazelle (The singer) is speaking

To the bunny in Zootopia

A bunny wanted to become a police officer. Her dream was perceived to be outrageous because no bunny has ever thought or become a police officer yet.

3)      These words all revolve around trying everything. Like some words in the song, “keep”, “again”.

4)      I think this poem is contemplative, it encourages us to try everything, we should think about it when we give up.

The words that set up the tone: oh, keep, wanna, won’t, try, reach

No, it doesn’t change

5)      The basic metrical pattern is short sentences, the length of the stanza is 6 sentences.

It uses both end rhyme and internal rhyme. Like the “d” in ground and down.

It starts by “I messed up tonight”. To start telling us a story about it, and then tell us to try everything

6)      This song is telling us to try everything, and you should not give up, especially something new.

There are some sounds like “oh”

It uses “Birds don’t just fly, They fall down and get up” as alliteration to tell us that make some mistakes are ok, but we shouldn’t give up and try more times.

I think keep trying might be a better title. Like in the song, it tells us never stop trying, but I think it more keeps on saying that we should try things more times that never give up. So that I think keep trying might be a better title.

7)    the poet succeeds in recreating his experiences within the reader, it said: “Sometimes we come last but we did our best, I won’t give up, no I won’t give in”. the poet uses all the experiences that we all meet to explain he won’t give up.

It tells the poet that when you try the new things, you might make a mistake, but you should keep trying and never give up. And then, you will learn.
