1. What is your job title? Operations Specialist for Waste Management.
2. What is your job description? Provides clerical and administrative support to route managers, and assists in coordinating all aspects of daily operations, including recording and reporting data.
3. What duties and/or tasks you perform at your job? Time keeping/payroll and distributes pay-stabs to drivers. Human Resources tasks (Processing vacation requests, attendance tracking, processing expense reports and one time payments as well as various reports)
4. What qualifications do you have for this job in the following areas:
- Training? Office Administration, Microsoft Applications such as word and excel.
- Education? Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience? No prior work experience required. Although preferred office administrative experience in field operations environment.
- Skills and attributes (personal qualities) Ability to cooperate with co-workers easily. Be able to handle a fast pace environment. Familiarity to unionized environment. Highly organized. Team focused. Good Communication skills.
5. What are some things you like about your job? Fast pace environment makes it more interesting. Being able to communicate with a variety of people.Being given space to be creative.
6. What are some things you dislike about this job? Uncooperative drivers such as not being able to perform some of their paper work properly. The environment sometimes becomes loud and noisy.
7. How do you anticipate this job changing in the next 5 years or so? Less paper printing or eliminating paper printing materials. Payroll/ time keeping software improvement. A more efficient system will be created for the amount of tasks that need to be completed.

9. Is this job for you? Why or why not?
I think that personally this job it not for me. Since it involves sitting for long periods of time meanwhile I would prefer a more active job. In addition, a more calm work place is more preferable to me. Furthermore, I would like to choose a job that involves writing, creativity or science. However, I do like this job because of the relationships you are able to form with co-workers and you get to meet many different people.
10. Explain the value of the TOKTW experience in relation to your ideas about post secondary (after high school) plans (education?, training?, travel?, work?) This is a valuable experience since it gives students the opportunity to understand more about work environments and the importance of having efficient personal qualities. I now have a sense of what I would like to do after post secondary institution. I hope to be able to get a university diploma and to get training on frequently used softwares as well as having a chance to travel before I start working.
