Hi, welcome to my blog. This my one pager assignment on Pathways  to a Theme. The story I focused on was The Rabbits, by Shaun tan and John Marsden.

Critical and Creative Thinking-

What inspired you to create this piece?-

I was inspired to create this piece from reading the book. I was very fascinated to see the Indigenous people’s point of view and I wanted to put my thoughts and research into proper words, which this project helped me do.

What aspects of this activity were challenging?

One aspect I found challenging was coming up with a Theme question and statement. I was unable to find any relation with the Human Condition until I asked my teacher and peers for help. But, I was able to come up with multiple theme statements and questions to best of my ability.

What personal strategies did you use to generate ideas?

Often, I found myself drawing to a blank, but to generate ideas, I would flip through the books and carefully look at the illustrations and go through my Pathways to a Theme notes. That strategy always helped me be inspired.

Communication-

How did you use feedback during the creation of this project?

I used the feedback I got from my friends effectively. I took in their considerations and applied some of them. I believe feedback is very helpful because it helped me improve my project.

Why did you choose this book?

I chose this book because I felt that there was a lot of ideas in the story that I could work with. Such as understanding the emotions of the Indigenous people and the struggles that they’re going through.

What could’ve you done differently if you had to chance to?

I would add more colour and make my art look better so my picture is more meaningful and eye-catching. I would also make my statements well written and add more text to world/self connections.

Personal and Social Responsibility-

How does this project show your progression as a learner?

This project demonstrates on I’m able to tie in my overall writing to my picture and my theme. I am also slowly learning how to find the theme connected to the Human Condition in stories.

How did you demonstrate personal responsibility with this project?

I demonstrated Personal Responsibility by completing my assignment on time and making sure to ask questions so I can fully understand the subject.

How did you influence/ help your peers?

I answered my friends’ questions and gave them helpful feedback that they could use.
