Identities paragraph

“Identities” was the officer justified when he killed the man

All rise for the judge this case is against the officer that stands before verses the defendant according to section 244 discharging firearm with intent.

The story “Identities” by W.D Valgardson is about a rich man going for a drive in a sketchy area and doesn’t know where he is so he decided to pull over at grocery store but sees 2 shady men outside the store so he thinks that the 2 men were going to jump him so he makes it look like he doesn’t have that much money on him and makes it look like his car was stolen and the officer is in a bad neighbour and was told if you see a man that is unshaven and driving a nice car is probably a robber the officer orders the man to halt and the man reaches for his back pocket and the officer fires at the man a kills him.

Was the officer justified when he killed the man at the grocery store. In my opinion the officer was justified when he reached for something in his pocket because the police officer was on end because he was in a shady neighbourhood and was told “he has been trained to see an unshaven man in blue jeans as a potential thief ” you should stop them so “the officer orders him to halt” and he did but continued to reach for something and the officer seen that and didn’t know what the man was reaching for so the officer prepared himself for the worst and decided to shoot before anyone else would get hurt in this situation in addiction the man shouldn’t have made it look like he stole the car if the police was there.

In the case of section 244 we find the officer not guilty because the man was reaching for something without the officer asking for something plus he made the car look stolen so the officer had the right to think to think that the made was criminal or up to something.
