Pre Calc 12 – Transformations Reflection
How has this unit impacted your creative and critical thinking and communication skills?
In this unit, we developed our communication skills by talking to our peers to figure out certain problems or questions. This helped me develop my communication skills by forcing me to take what I am thinking and turn it into words to explain to others. This also helped my critical thinking because we had to come up with solutions to problems and questions that I didn’t have a lot of practice with. Doing this also helped with creative thinking because we had to think about the question and try to develop a solution. Also, my creative thinking was developed by learning to think outside of the box and try things before coming up with a solution, like with the “teenager effect” with (x-2) moving right instead of left. I believe that talking with our peers helps us develop these skills and helps us better understand the concepts by trying to develop our own solutions to problems and it helps us remember the solutions because we are forced to think of it and analyse the problem.
