Chemistry Test Day
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend – be thankful for no homework!
Review Day!
Study for your Chemistry Test tomorrow.
Have your Chemistry Homework package ready to hand in tomorrow.
Atom Detective Presentations
During the presentations, take notes on the validity and limitations of each atomic model presented. Note the appearance of the atom. At the end of the class you will draw a timeline with all 5 scientists and their models. Include the following:
– label each Scientist in order of their discoveries
– draw their atom
– state the validity of this model (as briefly as possible)
– State the limitation of this model (as briefly as possible)
2. On Friday, you will have a Chemistry Test and you will hand in your package of Chemistry Homework (chem-homework)
The Atom Detectives
http://www.rsc.org/learn-chemistry/resource/res00001332/the-atom-detectives
1. Read Scientist worksheet and complete the questions included.
2. Create a model of the atom as understood by your scientist.
3. How valid is the model or analogy?
4. What are its limitations?
5. Group presentations in an upcoming class (3 – 5 min presentations). Present model of atom and explain the validity and limitations of the model as if you were on an episode of, The Atom Detectives
