Apron Journal

Last week I sketched out my apron design and planned out all the measurements. I’ve now cut out all my pieces on a thin sheet of paper so I can test out all my measurements to make sure that none of the pockets are too big or too small and if the apron will fit my height and around my waist. Last week was a learning experience for me because I came into textiles knowing practically nothing but now, I know how to thread a sewing machine, make measurements, and learned the different parts of a sewing machine. My goal for next week is to do my stich tests and cut my material to prepare them for sewing and hopefully start on the sewing. For my long-term project, I want to make a pair of pants that flare at the bottom. I want them to have rips that are filled in with different patches of material.
