English 11 reflections

In this English 11 class, I learned a lot of things. First, this class helped me to improve my English skill. As I read and heard a lot of English through books, articles, discussions, videos and many more, I learned a  lot of new vocabularies as well as grammar.  At the beginning of the second semester, I was always nervous and I didn’t want to go to English class because there were a lot of discussions and group work in class which was least favorite things. I hegitated speak English in front of people due to be afraid of making grammar mistakes and being teased by others. I was freaking out all the time.  However, when I started to speak, they listened to me and tried to understand. And I realized that Also, doing spoken word in front of people gave me confidence. It was great to do. After I had done it, I felt an accomplishment and could get more confident. Thank you for giving me such a great opportunity !!

Also, the identity unit opened my eyes and it was worth to me. I enjoyed it a lot. I realized that there were many different kinds of people such as LGBTQ, Native American and immigrants and many more who went hardship due to stereotypes and discriminations by others and I had never cared about them until I came into this class.  I  learned it was very important to make open-minded society which accepts all people who categorized as different, not judging by their labels but trying to understand their personality. I gained a lot of deeper understanding of others and society also I got skills which see things from different perspective through this English class.
