What I learned this week: FOIL

First term in each bracket
Outside terms
Inside terms
Last term in each bracket

Foil is an acronym for the four steps above. It is used when multiplying two binomials together. (a+b)(c+d) is equivalent to (ac+ad+bc+bd)

(2b+5)(3a+5)
F(6ab)+O(10b)+I(15a)+L(25)

If there is a coefficient make sure that you don’t use the distributive property until you have simplified the expression as much as possible.
