Propaganda Poster Project

Propaganda poster explanation

In this propaganda poster for the short novel “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, Tristen Rae has drawn a picture of a tombstone that says RIP in big bold letters and then underneath it reads Old Major, Lived until 12 and then one of his motto’s “Four legs good, two legs bad”. The main message in Tristen Rae’s propaganda poster underneath the tombstone is in big bold letters “Do It for Old Major”. In the novel the author mentions that the burial place is located at the orchard so Tristen Rae has drawn a few apple trees.  The first propaganda method Tristen has used is the common enemy/scapegoat method. This method is used by saying “two legs bad” meaning humans are bad and making them the enemy. The second method used by Tristen is the repetition method. In the animal farm they repeat “Four legs good, two legs bad” To brainwash the animals into thinking that humans are bad and animals are good.  Tristen Rae uses the glittering generalities method because the animals appeal to senses of love and peace. Love because the animals loved Old Major’s ideas and peace because if they follow through with Old Majors they believe there will be peace on the farm. Le final method Tristen Are has used in his propaganda poster is the bandwagon method. The bandwagon method is used by trying to get other animals to “Do it for Old Major” .
