Bard in the Classroom Reflection

(This picture is in the middle of a comedy tableau)

My favourite part of bard on the beach performance was the visuals that came along with learning about Shakespearean plays. I felt as if i had a better understanding on what is going on especially when we would reenact some of the scenes together. There were a few things about Bard on the beach i did not enjoy as much as i could have, doing warmups where very long and some unnecessary, as well as i wish i would have learned more about Shakespeare and less of acting. I did learn quite a bit about Much Ado About Nothing, and really i enjoyed the elimination game we played on the characters from that poem. The enactment of shakespearean plays gave me a much better understanding on the complicated language he used in his poetry. My favoured activity we participated in was the tableaus, because it brought life to the classroom and i think that it was one of the most fun to partake in. Other than that i enjoyed the insult activity we did, however it was a bit more difficult and took more confidence to take part in. I have a brief understanding on  “Much Ado About Nothing”, although i am not very confident on the main premises of the play, i do think that doing small tableaus helped me further understand. The play “Much Ado About Nothing” is under the genre of comedy because the play is quite humorous, no deaths involved in this play and it ends in a few marriages. When finding out what the actual title of this comedy play means, i was caught by surprise considering it means ” a lot of fretting about gossip”
