I am writing this letter to give an advice on fracking. I know that fracking can force open existing fissures and extract oil and gas, but there might be a better way to do it. There are more disadvantages than advantages on fracking. Therefore, I suggest to stop this process. In the process of fracking, 8 mil. Liter water and electricity are being used which is a waste of money and resources. Second, 80,300 tons of chemical are inserted into the fracking fluid and it can up to 600 different kinds, which is hazardous and can lead to the air pollution and water pollution. One of video record that the water near the fracking area is all polluted and the water becomes waste and unable to drink. In addition, fracking will increase the potential for oils spills, which can harm the soil and surrounding vegetation. According to the information, fracking may also lead to earthquake due to the high pressure used to extract oil and gas from rock and the storage of excess wastewater on site, which is harmful to environment and biological health. I hope you can stand in the citizens’s perspective and think the necessary of fracking. There might be a great danger threatening our life if we do not stop fracking.
