In this post, I am going to be talking about what information I have recently learned and what tips and tricks I use to help me better understand the information I am being given.
So let’s talk about three main points: Mean, Median and Mode.
To find the Mean : You take the sum of your numbers and divide it by how many numbers there are in the grouping. I like to remember that the Mean means average.
To find the mode: You look at the grouping and find the number and appears the most in that grouping. I like to remember that Mode means most.
To find the Median: You line all the numbers in the grouping from smallest to largest and you find the number that has the middle value. I like to remember that Median means middle.
To find the Range: You find the different between the smallest and largest number.
Now let’s talk about Deviation of Numbers
There are 4 easy steps I like to use when figuring out the Deviation of Numbers.
- Find out the Mean of a grouping. (Using the tips and tricks above)
- For each number in the grouping, subtract the Mean and square the result.
- Then once you have a new grouping of numbers, find out the mean for that grouping.
- Then take the square root of the Mean of the new grouping and you are done!
