Effects:

There’ve been increased temperatures which are making the sea levels rise up. There is also going to be way more intense rainfall which would cause more storm floodings too. Plus the climate change is expected to bring more frequent and extreme storms too. This will affect a lot of people that live near the coastline since the buildings near there were only build to withstand weather that was way less extreme and less frequent. Increased demand for water is expected with climate change. There are also effects that are not negative like for example, the warmer weather may present some opportunities for industries such as agriculture and tourism.

Causes:

The Maritimes climate change is mostly caused by greenhouse gas emissions since a lot of our energy resources are fossil fuel-based. Greenhouse gas emissions are also very bad for our environment since carbon dioxide makes the majority of the gasses. Plus the burning of fossil fuels is one of the biggest causes of pollution. A problem to solve this is to try to use energy resources that will let out a lot fewer gas emissions so then that will help out at least a little bit. A recommendation would be to use wind turbines but I’m not 100% sure if that would be a suitable choice.
