Silver Lining About Being Quarantined

In this reflection I want to share 2 silver linings that I’ve discovered while social distancing, one is a personal silver lining while the other is about the world. While being stuck at home practically dying of boredom, I found that a huge plus is that I get to catch up on sleeping and stay in bed all day. Another joy about staying at home is that I sometimes get the chance to eat breakfast (if I wake up early enough), which I usually wouldn’t if I had school. Being stuck at home wouldn’t so deflating if it weren’t for the fact that I actually made plans for spring break for once, it would like normal since I usually stay at home anyways. But it’s nice surrounded by family which would usually be at work, though I have to say that I miss my alone time. An extra bonus for me is that I learned a new drink recipe, it’s called whipped coffee and I think it’s my new addiction. Generally, I dislike coffee for its bitter taste, but I do have some exceptions. What is whipped coffee, the TikTok trend?

While in my room I often heard my mom talking about the news going on in our world and the environment. I’ve heard that our earth’s atmosphere layers are healing rapidly due to the sudden reduce of pollution, it’s been worrying hearing things about climate change and all the possibilities of what our future might become and the wreckage that comes with it. Another neat thing that’s happening around the world is that animals are coming out of hiding and are roaming the streets, seeing all the different animals roaming about makes me feel happy, knowing the animals feel safe enough to do this. It’s like mother nature is making us pay it back for all of the harm we’ve done to it, but just a small portion of it. But a side effect to this is that another type of pollution has come into play, as people have found numerous gloves and masks littered everywhere. But the least that everybody can do to contribute to ending this pandemic and hope from the safety of our homes that there’s more good news to hear.
