The commercial I have chosen is by the brand, “Aveeno”. The commercial was released in early March of 2014. The brand “Aveeno” is trying to sell their lotion, which goes on about how they are able to reduce brown spots within 4 weeks if you intend on using the product daily. Aveeno also says one will have healthy looking, radiant skin if you use the product. Aveeno is trying to sell their product to women who suffer with dry or damage skin. Aveeno’s product is not specifically used for lotion, Aveeno has lot’s of options, whether it’s eye cream or daily moisturizer they have it all. Some aural techniques that this commercial is using is having a women narrate the commercial. The commercial also includes have a celebrity star in the commercial which makes one want to buy the product even more. Some visual techniques that this commercial is using is incorporating is having natural colours, and making their product the spotlight of the commercial. This Aveeno commercial is applying to ethos. I know that it is ethos because they are using a celebrity to help sell their product, and make it seem like it is the best of the best. Having a celebrity model the product will help increase the buyers of the product because some people may idolize the celebrity who is selling the product. One of the advertising persuasive techniques that is being used in this commercial is transfer. They are using transfer because they are using positive words and saying how good their product is and how it will benefit one. The last advertising persuasive technique that is being used is Magic Ingredient. They are using the Magic Ingredient technique by saying they have “Active natural soy formula”.
