Task 1: What’s in your bag Free Write Assignment
For this write, you are going to place all the items in your bag on your desk. You are then going to pick one or two items that you are going to write about in your free write. As you are writing about these items think about the following things as you are completing your write:
- What does that item mean to you?
- Why is that item important to you?
- What does that item say to you?
- How does the item make you feel everyday?
- What does this item say about you in the past, present or future?
In your write, try to write complete sentences. Try to think of the 5 Questions (Who, What, Where, When, Why and How) when you are doing your write.

I am a first generation Canadian. My parents are from Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados. I lived in Trinidad for the first nine years of my life. I had to move to Vancouver, Canada after developing a rash on my face. It was believed that I was allergic to the sun. We settled in Coquitlam, British Columbia and I went to school at Montgomery Elementary School.
