Flag Pole Lab Math 10 2019

Here is my flag pole assignment. Were my group measured the flag pole outside in front of the school.

How did we do it without climbing the whole thing with a ruler?

With trigonometry!!!

What is trigonometry?

I brief without explaining all of trigonometry, trigonometry has the ability to calculate the length of an unknown side of a triangle if you have an angle and a side

So using these tools

(clinometer and a trundle meter)

The clinometer is used to calculate the angle of something.

the trundle meter is used to measure the distance of something using the ground to measure.

Using these measurements we are able to measure the angle and distance leaving us with enough information to use trigonometry to find the length of the flag pole.

Conclusion

After all this math, we came up with the answer that the flagpole is 12M long

although this might be wrong due to inaccurate tools we did our best and got everything right to assume it is near 12M tall.

Thanks to my partner Ksenya for helping.
