LA LUNE
A bright starry night surrounded them, the water as deep and blue as the night itself.
The three of them approach the destination, just below the moon.
Little George is on his first ever trip with his father and grand-dad.
They haven’t arrived yet, and poor George has heard endless chatter from the others.
They want George to follow their steps.
the family tradition to the T, and be just like them.
Moon janitors.
But once they arrive, their moods grow content.
The ladder connects them to the moon and George begins his first journey.
The bright little stars, scattered like toys at a toy store.
George’s eyes widened like he just met the love of his life. Astounded.
The tools, by his side. His father and grand-dad sweeping the stars.
Showing the moons bare hazel surface.
But he began the hear the aggression between his father and grand-dad.
They wanted George to be like them and not the other. But George didn’t want to hear that.
He was so fixated on the beauty of the stars, he didn’t wanna sweep.
He almost didn’t notice the giant glistening star beaming down towards them.
The flames burning, the light so monstrous it illuminated the whole moon.
George and the others hurtled into a crater.
George sprang to the star and climbed to the tipity top.
No chance that he would stop.
He grabbed his hammer and bashed the star
He fell and the whole thing fell apart.
The beauty they all saw and it turned into bits.
It illuminated their hearts and changed their mind of what George had to be.
George soon raked, he saw it as a chance to be close to the stars that he loved so much, you see.
