Connection-Based Learning

Couch Model

We have been working in group for month to help a man named Tim with huntingtins. Through interaction with Tim we found out his struggles with his daily life. Each group made a different aspect that Tim struggles with, our group was to help Tim get off the couch. Our design was inspired from the standard couch cane, and our project is our design of the couch cane only using material we could find in the school. To conclude this project was very difficult, yet it was fun to hunt down needed information.

For a big project like this, its expected to learn and grow from the project, so the next project would be better. The biggest problem in our group was the lack of control towards our responsibility, its was hard to give equal work loads and hard to get every to work. I hope for our next project we could give equal workloads we don`t overwhelm anybody. For myself, I learning that there is always a way to get involved, even though I didn’t have any ability of wood working yet I was able to help by filming and taking pictures of Gautom’s work. To sum it up, I definitely learned some new information on how to improve my work.

Working with my group and this project left me with information needed to make better projects, and how to implement them into my next project. Our group struggled when it came to even workloads and collaboration, we didn`t really work well together and some of our group member were more capable then other, so other needed to do more in order to finish the project. Our group procrastinated a lot and we only started working during last two weeks we had to finish when we had months to finish the project, we need to improve! For next time we should probably have some work where we work together so it would be easier to create equal workloads and to also mix skills to have a project we all like. I liked this project, it taught me some important lesson and learn how to improve on my next group project.
