Week 11- Precalc 11

in this week of math Precalc we learned about how to tell if the graph is a broken line or solid and which side we shade in with a test point

The way to find out if the line is solid or broken is by knowing that it has an or equal to sign under it which means it is solid and if it is just > or < it is a broken line

now the way to know which side to shade in is by using a test point I like to use 0,0 if the line doesn’t go through it

so for example y<2x+3

you first have to graph the line out so put a point at (0,3) because the +3 is your y intercept than do 2 up and 1 over going to the right because that is your rise over run because 2=2/1 your line should look like this

now you have to use a test point I will use 0,0 for this example

0< 2(0)+3

0<3 which is true which means you shade in the side your test point is on so our graph will look like this

Don’t forget about if the line is broken or solid this is an example of a broken line as well.
