Mutation Story

Evans syndrome

I am a gene and this is happen to me

is a very rare autoimmune disorder in which the immune system destroys the body’s red blood cells, white blood cells and/or platelets. Affected people often experience thrombocytopenia (too few platelets) and Coombs’ positive hemolytic anemia (premature destruction of red blood cells).

What is the causes Evan syndrome?

Although Evans syndrome seems to be a disorder of immune regulation, the exact pathophysiology is unknown. Autoantibodies targeted at different antigenic determinants on red cells and platelets are assumed to cause isolated episodes of hemolytic anemia and thrombocytopenia, respectively.

What effects did the Evan syndrome have on your host’s body?

The exact, underlying cause of Evans syndrome is unknown. Evans syndrome is an autoimmune disorder. It occurs when the immune system produces antibodies that mistakenly attack healthy tissue, specifically red blood cells, platelets and sometimes certain white blood cells.

How was the Evan syndrome life affected? What was their story?

ymptoms of the following disorders can be similar to those of Evans syndrome. Comparisons may be useful for a differention   diagnosis. Several different disorders may be characterized by the presence of both hemolytic anemia and thrombocytopenia. These disorders include paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, hemolytic-uremic syndrome, and Kasabach-Merritt syndrome. (For more information on these disorders, choose the specific disorder name as your searc term in the Rare Disease Database.)

What questions did you need to research in order to create your mutation story?

I research about what affect for Evans syndrome

What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you        worked through this project?

I not sure because I just do by computer and research some information in internet.

What was the process you used to investigate the topic?

I researched Evan syndrome and I used the information that                    Mr. Robinson posted in Edmodo.

How did you verify and cite the information you found?

How did the process of completing this challenge go? What could you have done better?

In my opinion it hard for me because I need to search information about Evan syndrome and it first time did I do this research in an English.

  1. Thanks for your mutation story. I appreciate how you have successfully answered your questions in your story. Some thoughts are to include more questions, try some other digital tools, and make citation links. Try to embed media into the story as well. Other than that, good work!
