Elimination is another option to use instead of substitution, some may prefer this way more as it’s sorta easier. Personally I just decided which one would be quickest because sometimes you need to change the equation around to do elimination . When using elimination zero pairs are needed. We start with two equations such as 4x+2y-31=0 and -4x+6y-13=0 right away we can see the zero pairs. So we eliminate the zero pairs then we add everything together. We then use algebra to isolate y. For this particular equation the answer for why is going to be a fraction remember to always leave it in fraction form and to simplify itv as much as possible. Once y is found we choose one equation and use algebra to find x.
