My group and i have worked very hard on making a working model of a solar powered lamp. The lamp is easily portable and light weight, we have much bigger ideas for what we wanted from this product and hopefully if we could continue with it more would meet all of our expectations. We hope that in the future we could make it brighter but still fast at charging but fro now we couldn’t find a way of doing so. We Had a few struggles here and there with the building of our portable solar powered lamp. One thing we had a problem with was finding a solar panel and finding a way to make the small light brighter. We spent lots of time on those things and managed to removed the blue inside of the container which helped with the brightness problem. We didn’t get too many connects because the two we tried didn’t get a chance to respond. we did however make connections in class which helped lots, such as Sara badie, yazeed and peeta strike.
Throughtout this project i have learned so much, especially from the guess we had in the class. Most of the skills were things we found out as we were going through the project and might not even help us a lot but they still contributed to our finished product. Such as how to get rid of the blue lining in our container, how expensive solar panels are, where to find solar panels, etc. I am pretty proud of what my group and i accomplished think we really did met our goal and it turned out very well.
The collaboration with each other was another struggle for us but over time we managed to work together to get it all done on time. We did well on the final product but could definitely improve on the brightness and adding a switch. I think connection based -learning is interesting but somewhat hard to do. The while project is just given to us and its up to us to figure it out. I think the idea scares me but after having done it it definitely is easier and makes more senesce as you go along.

I am very proud and impressed with what your group created to address the light poverty in Gaza that the class learned about from Sara Badiei from the World Bank. It is great that you worked hard to figure out a way to make your light brighter. I hope your lantern can inspire other students that they can make a difference in the world if they put their minds to it. I am happy to hear that you believe that though you thought this connection based learning experience is hard and scary at first, it made more sense as you went along. If you got an opportunity, what other ideas do you have that might make a difference for the people of Gaza?

If i were to continue with the light i’d Probably use a different light and solar panel so i would be able to add a switch and have a brighter light. In general though i feel like ways to clean water would be an important project to work on but at the moment I’m not quite sure what i would do to take action.
