Katniss volunteers as tribute.

2. How did Kat’s mother react to her husband’s death?
She went into a world of sadness and she doesn’t work or take care of the family. She spends most days under her blanket.

3. Describe Kat’s only previous encounter with Peeta Mellark.
She was starving for food and needed food for her family. Peeta burned bread and gave the bread to her.
4. Why didn’t katniss want to prim to cry?
Because it would make katniss cry and she didn’t want to show weakness infant of the other tributes watching on tv.

When a group of my friends decided they disn’t want to take to me anymore and in felt alone and defeated. I went out of my comfort zone to meet knew people.
Write a short flashback from your own life – try and remember a time someone did something really nice for you, for no real reason. What happened? Why do you think they did this for you?
Me and my friend went to the store to get some juice and food because we were hungry, the lady a head of us decided to pay for our food. I think she did that because she wanted us to save our money.

Peeta teamed up with the best meanest killers in the game and even killed someone to survive.
‘’A stabbing pain shoots through my knee and one has found me and the others will be honing soon’’
Katniss risked getting stung to get away from the career tributes so she can survive.
Loyalty is the most valuable weapon
‘’Peeta Mellark saved my life’’
Peeta risked his own life to save katniss which helped her escape and find a safe spot to rest.

Katniss teams up with rue because she knows that they could both benefit from each others expertise.

Chapter 18

1. How is decorating Rue with flowers a sign of protest? What is she protesting? Why won’t it be shown much on television?
Katniss was protesting the hunger games trying to show that she’s not just a pon in their games. The flowers were a sign to show that katniss isnt just a cold blooded killer. They would show it on tv because then people would realize that they are kids and not just killers.
