This week in Math 10 we began our Trigonometry unit, which is the study of the relationship between angles and sides of a triangle. One of the biggest things that we learned was how to use Soh Cah Toa. Soh Cah Toa is an abreviation for Sine = opposite/hypotenuse Cosine = adjacent/hypotenuse and Tangent = opposite/adjacent. These are all ratios that you can use to find all the angles and sides as long as you know one angle and one side of a triangle. A good way we learned to check our answers is to look at all the angles and see if it makes sense. Say you have a right angle triangle, then you know that one angle is at least 90 degrees which means the two other angles must be both 45 degrees or one must be under 45 degrees and one must be larger than 45 degrees.
