  1. What different conflicts has Canada been involved in during the 20th century?

WW1, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam even though it was America’s War

For each conflict that you identified describe the following:

Germany, Vietnam, France, Britain, USA, Soviet Union or “aka” Russia, Korea, Australia, Japan

  1. Were there any memorable or important events?

Vimy Ridge, Paschendale, Battle of the Somme, Juno Beach, Bombings of Japan, 

  1. How many casualties did Canada suffer?

Roughly 350,000 men and women were casualties in the wars listed above for Canada alone 

  1. What was the outcome of the conflict?

WW1 Germany was the main loser while Great Britain and the allies were victorious, WW2 Germany and the Nazis were overrun by allies and the soviet union which led to Germany’s defeat, Vietnam was won by the North Vietnamese Armies and Viet Cong

  1. Were there any long term impacts from the conflict?

All these wars mark significant events in Canada’s history of becoming who we are today. Many battlefields still hold many relics and artifacts from previous wars that are significant in educating and reflecting on the past.
