One of William Golding’s iconic novels, “Lord of the Flies,” focuses on the primitive instincts of people and how they unravel when they are separated from society. The story takes place on an island where a group of children became stranded in after their plane crashed on said island. They attempted to establish order by creating a hierarchy, each with an important role to fulfill. Ralph became the group’s chief, while Jack was titled the head of the hunters. The other boys were tasked to help build society. Piggy is one of these boys. Despite his chunky physique and his asthma, he is a great contributor of the group because of how he helped Ralph assemble the team. Many people would describe him as an inferior individual because of how easily he gets scared. Even though he is somewhat a bigun, many of the boys, even the litluns, did not find it difficult to degrade him.
