March/April Lab Reflection – Foods 10

REFLECTION LAB: FRENCH TOAST

1) I chose to relfect on this lab because it was one of my favourites that we did over this time period. I really enojoyed cooking the french toast, the end result was very tasty and it wasn’t hard to make and didn’t take a long time to do. I think it is a good choice for a good breakfast.

2)  I really enjoyed this lab becuase it was fun to make and easy to do, either at school or at home. I also like using the grill and flipping them over. They tasted really good dipped in egg and even better with powdered sugar and maple syrup.

3) The French toast that my group made turned out really well. It was nice and light and fluffy. The things that helped us get this result was by not soaking the bread in egg for to long, otherwise it would get to soggy and break and also by timing themm right when they were on the grill pan. We left them on until they were golden brown or darker if someone wanted theirs crispy.

4)  My group worked well together. We made sure that everyone was doing something like cleaning up, setting the table, etc. And dividing the work that needed to be done so everyone had an equal amount to clean up. We made sure that there was always at least one person watching the french toast and keeping an eye on the timer to make sure it wouldn’t burn. I think we did a good job in making it and cleaning up afterwards too.

5) I wouldn’t change much about this recipe because I liked the way it was cooked. The things that I would change would be the things that you put on top. Like mapybe adding whip cream or if you wanted to be healthier adding fruit either on top or on the side. Other than extra ingredients I liked the way it was cooked.
