Our Idea:
Our idea is to create an alarm for you phone while you are in the car. When the phone is touch or picked up while in the car an alarm with go off reminding you not to use you phone while driving. This will prevent car accidents that happen while texting and driving.
Some people don’t follow the steps in making sure that they are not distracted by their phone while driving. You should turn it off completely and make sure it’s on silent. It helps to put it out of reach so you won’t be tempted to grab it. Unfortunately some people don’t follow these steps.

Define:
Texting and driving could be stopped by an alarm that is connected to your phone when you touch it.

Discover:
Apps, turning phone on silent, turning phone completely off and putting cells out of reach still don’t happen often for it to not be a problem. We need something more.

Dream:
An alarm that senses and rings when your phone is touched. The phone would feel your fingerprint and it will automatically shut off- or an alarm will notify you not to touch your phone. The phone would have a car mode on it so it would know when it is in the car and you are driving.

Deliver:
The alarm would be hooked up in a parallel circuit to ensure that if one thing breaks the electrons would still be able to flow. Like the circuits we made in class, instead of using lightbulbs we would use sound machines as the alarm.

Design:
The design would be a type of box that the phone rests in. It would have sensors/ a scale that would tell when the phone is being touched or lifted out of the box. The box would be dark to hide the screen from the driver. When the phone is touched the sensors inside the box would pick it up sounding the alarm.
