Oobleck Experience

Acting as a Liquid

Today in science class we made oobleck. Its a weird substance made with cornstarch, water, and a bit of food colouring that we added… (;

Oobleck is weird, because it can act like a solid or a liquid. If you hit it hard or roll it fast, it acts like a solid. If you press it slowly or let it sit in you hand, it acts like a liquid. I think that oobleck is on the border of being a solid and a liquid, so if its possible, I think its both.

This lab was really fun. It was cool to see how the oobleck acted in different situations and playing with it. It defiantly makes a mess though!

Here are a couple of photos & videos to get a look at oobleck and our lab:

We suggest maybe not using food colouring in your oobleck (or at least not green), unless you want to become the Grinch...

(Ignore the commentary of my partners in the videos haha.)

I really recommend you make some oobleck at home and experience it for yourself!!!
