For my community connection project, I have decided that I interview someone i have common interests as me. The person i decided to interview goes by the name, “Danakas Lin”. I chose to interview him because he had the same interests that i had. My interest was a hobby called playing video games. He had also had this same interest as i did, playing video games, more specifically, we both played this popular video game called “Rogue Lineage”. He was much more skilled than i was, so i thought he could tell me a thing or two about his time as a rogue lineage player. He answered most of the questions i had in heavy detail so i was able to get quite a bit of information about how he started out his career in rogue lineage. Danakas does not wish to be contacted by our fellow students due to personal reasons.
The first question i asked him was, “Why are you passionate about your job or role?”. His role seemed to be an important role. Danakas plays a class in the game called, “Shinobi,” which serves an important role of dealing heavy amounts of damage to the enemy whilst protecting his teamates. He is passionate about his role because he enjoys proving himself to the people who never thought he could be a valuble member of the community. I think that he show alot of passion for what he does for his clan and i also think that he is very brave for doing this, because death in this game is permanant. Whether it be an assassination quest to just a simple escort, Danakas would would his pride, life, joy and soul into his task to achive perfection into what he is doing.
Danakas then told me about his journey to becoming what he is today. He was born into a small, poor family where he was unable to learn the basics of this world known as gaia. His clan at the time were at the same skill level as he was, so he struggled to get the proper education to learn the basics of his journey across this cruel, wretched world. He was made to learn the path of the freezing tundra, filled with howlers and powerful players, he fought his way through the tundra and thus, running into the heirs of the “Sayura” bloodline, those who are part of the clan they call themselves “Sinfull”. After being mauled to death by those Sinfull, he lay in a ditch, waiting for his eternal death, he met his savior, a man who went by the name, “Lord Grit Evo”, the founder of the Evo clan. He was chosen to join the clan of the Evo where he was finally able to recieve the proper training he deserved. The Evo clan was a very powerful group of people who were hardened killers. Danakas with the help of his clan, was able to gain power and was able to defeat his enemies and help out his clan. He was well known in his clan, he went by the name “Solomon Evo”, also known as a healer and as “The Merciless”. Danakas has gone through many near death experiences and encounters to get to where he is today and I think that no matter what you have to go through, you will one day achive greatness.
Some advice he gave me for rogue lineage were very simple yet, effective. From all the days of learning, fighting and grinding his sould out, he must have known alot about the game and helpful tips to ease your way into the world of rogue lineage. He says to never give up, even if it looks like its the end of the road from here. Danakas also say to ignore the negative word people will say to you as the community in this game is not the nicest. People will generally say that you lack skills, or that you will never achive your goal, but no matter what you do, you will one day find yourself to be a very powerful player. Just keep your head up and continue on with your journey andyou too, can become one with power. Prove the people who doubted you wrong and ask your more experienced friends for some advice. The words he wrote here, were once told by the leader of his clan which kept his motivation up to become what he is now.
This question i asked was one i came with myself. The question i asked him was, “what has gotten you interested in Rogue Lineage”. Danakas says that what got him into this game is mainly the unique fighting mechanics of the game. Before he found rogue lineage, he used to only play games that require no skill and barely any effort. When he first started out in the game, the game was incredibly difficult because the game was still fairly new and there wasn’t much informoation known about the game. What kept his motivation up to continue playing the game and finding out more about it was his friends. He always played with his friend because it was more fun to fight as a group and it just kept him going with the advice they gave him, and the joke they told to keep his spirits up when he lost all of his hard earned gear. He also like the game for the feeling of when you are finally maxed out. He says it feels like you have just gotten a huge accomplisment and he just feel very powerful. Perfecting the art of playing a class is also a very exciting feeling as you finally figured out how to play the class you worked your blood, sweat and tears into.
I also had another question to ask him about his adventure in rogue lineage. The question i asked was, “Who did you look up to when you were starting out with your rogue lineage career?”. i thought this was an interesting question because i think that if he enjoyed the things the people he looked up to did, i thought i might be able to learn something from those people too. Danakas had a couple of people that he looked up to when he was an amature player. Some of these people would be someone who made content of rogue lineage on the YouTube platform. One of which was Roy Haru. Danakas admired him because of his immense power, skill and the knowledge of the game. Roy knew every corner of the map and the treacherous tundra. He used these people as an example for what he wanted to be in the future. These people who he looked up to was what gave him motivation and hope for himself and now, he has achieved much than what they have.
Overall, i think that the information that he has provided me during this interview has been very helpful to me as a fellow rogue lineage player. Danakas has taught me alot about his own experiences and handed me some advice i never would’ve thought be useful. I think that he had to have worked very hard training himself by fighting other people to become as skilled as he is today. A fun fact is that I was good friends with him in the past and I was actually the first person to introduce him to rogue lineage. I didn’t know much at the time either so we figured it out together and have now achieved our desired goals. Though he is more skilled than me now, I never would’ve thought that I would be recieving the best advice from him.
