Racism is something that has really affected humanity. Particularly in Canada, First Nations peoples have been discriminated and laughed at, but this is unacceptable. In Indian Horse, Saul was constantly victim to racism. When he wanted to go play on the town team he was kicked out because he was Indian, and he was “taking” the other white kids ice time. He was continuously discriminated against on the Toronto team and he was taken to his breaking point. After being in a residential school he was sort of numbed to the idea of racism as he was told his culture was disgraceful, but the racism in the Toronto team made him angry and took him to a level where he could no longer take it. The racism has placed fear upon First Nations. Saul was afraid and angry after all the abuse he received from his team and the crowd. In “What Do You Remember Of The Evacuation, the Japanese people were forced to leave their homes to evacuate from the Canadians that were chasing them away. They were discriminated against and afraid because they were a minority. Racism in humanity bring fear to minorities and people that are discriminated against.
