Foods 12 November/December Lab Reflection

Christmas Cookies

The lab I have chosen to reflect on is the Christmas Cookies we made in December right before the Christmas break. I have chosen to reflect on this lab because I thought the cookies we made turned out to taste very good and making these would be an easy, good snack to make at home when you are craving something sweet. I enjoyed this lab a lot because it was right before the Christmas break and I knew once the final day of the lab was over, I would be taking a big bag full of cookies home to eat and share. Nico, Arthur, and I made the cookies for me which seemed to be perfect every time. The cookies turned out exactly the way I had hoped and tasted very good. What had helped make them turn out perfect is knowing what each person had to do and making sure you are getting your job done for what you are supposed to do. Nico, Arthur, and I worked well together during the lab because we understood what we were doing and if someone didn’t know what to do they would ask someone else if they knew, so that way the cookies would turn out perfect. An issue we came across one of the days is one of the group members did not really have anything to do one of the days and the other 2 were doing all of the work and so how we solved this is we made sure everyone was getting assigned roles to do evenly. If I were to do this lab again, what I would do differently is add more sprinkles on top of the cookies and also add different things on top of the cookie to decorate it for appearance and also make it taste better such as putting chocolate sauce on top with sprinkles over top of it.

3 Reasons why the Chicago Blackhawks Logo should not be changed

1. There logo has been history for the team since 1926. The unit was named for a Sauk and Fox American Indian leader who fought against the United States government in the War of 1812 and in 1832, so getting rid of their logo would be in a way racist because of the fact that people want to remove it just because it symbolizes a Native American person, when really it symbolizes an actual person.

2. When they made the logo back in 1926, they wouldn’t have been making fun of the Native Americans because if they were they would have just been saying that there team sucks, so obviously they were using the name Blackhawks and logo in a good way.

3. In the video on YouTube when they asked Native American people, if they cared about the logo of these teams that represent them; they mostly said that it doesn’t bother them and that they weren’t really worried about it. I think the least thing that Native Americans would be thinking about for the racism that goes towards them is a hockey team’s logo and name when really this hockey team is representing them in a good way.

Galaxies

Milky Way:

This a spiral galaxy. I know because it looks like a pinwheel and there is a bulge in the center with several arms spiraling around it.

M31:

This is a Elliptical Galaxy. I know because it is in the shape of a football.

Nebula:

This is a irregular galaxy. I know because it does not have a defined shape.

Circuit

The way that my group found it to create the brightest light with the circuit was by connecting both wires to the light and the wires that were from the battery to the wires connected to the light, therefore creating a full circuit. I learned that the strength of the wires really matters for how light the light bulb goes because if it isnt as powerful then the light bull will barely shine, but if they are then the light should shine bright unless there is a different problem in the circuit.
