Week 17 – June 22, 2023 – Ceramic Plate

This week, I just finish my last ceramic plate. I painted it with pink for the base and red for the strawberry. After I finish painting it, I put wax at the bottom and put clear glaze and just wait for it to be glazed fire.
2. Your biggest struggle of the week.
My biggest struggle of the week was painting the seeds on the strawberry because there is no white paint left that much and there’s one but it is liquidy, so it wasn’t really showing.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success of the week was I finished all ceramic plate for my inquiry project.
4. Goal for next week.
My goal for next week is to get the last ceramic plate from the kiln.
Week 16 – June 15, 2023 – Ceramic Plate

This week I finish the three plates that i need. Yesterday, I put the last plate on the bisque fire and I just need to paint it.
2. Your biggest struggle of the week.
My biggest struggle of the week was when i was making the last plate because the shape was hexagon, so it was kind of hard to put the sides together perfectly.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success of the week was I finished all three but i still need to paint the last one.
4. Goal for next week.
My goal for next week is to finish this project.
Week 16 – June 8, 2023 – Ceramic Plate

This week, I decided to change my inquiry project because making teapot is too hard for me, so I decided to make ceramic plate instead for my inquiry project and so far i made two but only one is finish while the other one, i’m still on the process of painting it. I painted the second one with colour orange and i colour the middle with the letters with colour peach.
2. Your biggest struggle of the week.
My biggest struggle of the week was writing the letters or designs i want for my ceramic plate because i had to make it even.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success of the week was i’m almost finish with my second ceramic plate.

Sheep are the most quiet, non-violent, kind, and peaceful creatures ever known on Earth, and are one of the world’s calmest animals. A sheep attacking or being aggressive will never be heard or read about. Sheep are frequently misunderstood as being stupid or easily led due to their gentle mannerisms. Sheep, on the other hand, are always peaceful and intelligent animals that use varied sounds to transmit various emotions. All those describe me because i’m mostly quiet and calm around people. i’m someone who could never attack someone first and won’t cause any violence to other people.

This week I made a plate in a square shape.

My biggest struggle this week was putting the side of the square together.

This week, I didn’t have anything to do so i helped my friend finish hers. I helped her paint her animal mask.

Week 13 – May 18, 2023 – Paper Mache

My biggest struggle of the week was finding the right color to use for the sheep.

My biggest success of the week was i finished my paper mache project.

May 17, 2023 – Paper Mache Product
This the final product of my paper mache. I made a sheep and put fur around the face of the sheep except on the center part. I also put a pink fur on the ear. I colored the part where there’s not fur in it with brown with a mixture of a bit yellow and white.
Week 12 – May 11, 2023 – Paper Mache Process
My original idea was I will only put fur on the face and not on the ears and I’m only planning to just color it with acrylic paint but then I realize that its much better if i put a fur on the ear aswell. When I was making this project I had a hardtime finding the right color to use for the face and I keep changing it, I tried many things to find the right color that I was looking for. As the time went by I’m kind of finding the right color so I just used that. But it was not the color i’m really looking for but it was close enough so just leave it like that to not make it worse. I was planning on painting the face with dirty white.

This week, I painted the sheep with white and colour the nose and ears with pink. I also put fur on the sheep.

My biggest struggle of the week was when painting the sheep because i was trying to make it more like a dirty white so i added a bit brown but its kind of turning to pink so i just painted it white again.

My biggest success of the week was I finished painting it and I glued the fur on the sheep.

My goal for next week is to completely finish the sheep.
Week 11 – May 4, 2023 – Paper Mache

This week I put thin foil and covered it with tape, I used the thin foil as a bone for the sheep. I also put newspaper with paper mache on my sheep.

My biggest struggle of the week was when putting the paper mache because it smells bad.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success of the week was I’m almost putting the paper mache on my sheep.

My goal for next week is to start painting my sheep.
Week 10 – April 27, 2023 – Paper Mache

This week I cut some cardboards to make the shape of the paper mache, I first measure it on my face with the help of a partner then I stapler it together. After I put the cardboards together into a sheep, i put tape around it.

My biggest struggle of the week is making the shape of the paper mache into sheep.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success of the week was i was able to make the paper mache into a sheep and i’m almost done with it.

My goal for next week is to start putting paper on the cardboard.
Week 9 – April 20, 2023 – Paper Mache Project

This week I painted the Octopus with acrylic paint and I started to research about my paper mache project.

My biggest struggle this week was when painting the octopus because I had to mix some colour to get the colour I want.

My biggest success this week was the tentacles of the octopus I made didn’t broke.

Week 8 – April 13, 2023 – Life Below Water

This week, I redo my life below water project because I was not satisfied with what I made and the tentacles of the octopus broke too.

My biggest struggle of the week was I had to redo my life below water project.

My biggest success of the week was I finished the octopus and I just have to bisque fire it.

My goal for next week is to start painting the octopus with acrylic paint.
Week 7 – March 30, 2023 – Life Below Water

This week I painted the octopus. I only painted it with purple for now and add details later when I finish painting the whole octopus purple.
2. Your biggest struggle of the week.
My biggest struggle this week was when I was painting the octopus the legs keeps breaking and it was also kind of hard to paint the back of the octopus as it keeps breaking.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success this week was I was able to paint the whole thing although it was broken up so I have to put together again.

My goal for next week is to finish the life below water project which is the octopus that I’m working on.
Week 6 – March 9, 2023 – Monster Mug

This week I finished my monster mug and took a picture of it to post it on my edublog.

My biggest struggle this week was putting the clear glazed because there was a lot so had to remove some.

My biggest success this week was I finished the monster mug and it didn’t broke.

Week 5 – March 2, 2023 – Monster Mug

This week I put the mug on the bisque fire. I put a wax under the mug and put clear glaze.
2. Your biggest struggle of the week.
My struggle this week was putting the underglaze because when i dip it on the clear glaze after i lift it up, there was some holes that made and it was kinda thick too so i had to remove some glaze.

My biggest success this week was I finished the mug.

My goal for next week is to start life below water project.
Week 4 – Feb. 23, 2023 – Monster Mug

This week I continued making the monster mug and I finished doing the textures on the mug, I just have to let it dry and get it ready to put it in the kiln.
2. Your biggest struggle of the week.
I didn’t really encounter any struggle while doing my mug but my biggest struggle this week was trying to smooth out the mug and making it even.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success this week was i finished doing the textures and i just have to let it dry and paint it after it was bisque fire.

My goal for next week is to completely finish the monster mug.
Feb. 21, 2023 – Monster Mug Purpose
For my monster mug i’m planning on making something similar to this image. Im planning to make Mike Wazowski from the Monster Inc the one on the right side. I was planning to underglaze the mug with colour green.
Week 3 – Feb. 16, 2023 – Monster Mug

This week I did some research for some ideas on what to do for my monster mug. I already started my monster mug and the next that I’m doing is the handle.

My biggest struggle this week was kneading the clay because my hands are not strong and also putting the mug together it was kinda hard because it keeps cracking.

My biggest success this week was I put the mug together and i put the bottom of the mug.

My goal for next week is to finish the monster mug.
Sgraffito Tiles
This is the final product of my Sgraffito Tiles. I put glazed on the tiles and let it dry then put it in the kiln. For my Sgraffito tiles i made a flower while my partner dragonfly with a flower in it. To connect our tiles, the stem of my flower is connected to my partner’s dragonfly’s body.
Week 2 – Feb. 09, 2023 – Sgraffito Tiles

We started using the clay and knead the clay to make it flexible. After that I wedge the clay and make sure that they are no bubbles after that I cut it into a square shape and let it sit over the weekend. I painted the tile three times and let it dry until the next day. Then I cut out the paper with the design that I’m going to put on the tile. I put chalk all over the back of the paper then taped it on the tile to trace the flower that i draw. Then i carved out the lines.
2. Your biggest struggle of the week.
My biggest struggle of the week is when carving because it was my first time carving and after some time i got the hang on it and did well for the rest of it.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success this week was i did well on making the tile and i finished it. I just need to put in on the kiln and put glaze on it.
4. Goal for next week.
My goal for next week is to start my life below water and inquiry project.
Life Below Water
Octopus – Although octopuses are not considered endangered, they do face dangers from human activity. Such threats include habitat destruction, and a reduction in their main foods due to over fishing and marine pollution. We should atleast not overfish to leave some food for them. We should not leave plastic debris because it can cause ingestion, suffocation and entanglement of hundreds of marine species.
Inquiry Long-Term Project
On my long term project i would like to make a tea pot. I’m not sure yet what kind materials i will need to make this project. I want to make this because i find it cute and i want to put it on decoration. My mom likes putting something for decorations. The challenges that i might face in completing my goal is making the whole teapot because it is my first time to handle something with clay using the potter wheel. Before i will start on making this project i would watch some video on how they make them so i would have the idea to atleast know what i’m about to do.
Week 1 – Feb. 01, 2023 – Edublog page & Scavenger hunt

Yesterday, we first introduce ourselves in the class and get over some what were going to do throughout the course. We also did an scavenger hunt, to have an opportunity to get know a bit about our classmates and to kind of have a small talk. Today, we’re making an edublog page to put the works that we’ve done.
2. Your biggest struggle of the week.
The biggest struggle of the week is probably where the equipments/tools because this is the first time i took 3d arts, so the location of the equipments/tools is not familiar to me. I had some struggle on the scavenger hunt because we have to find the person that fits on that questions/sentences and sometimes i’m kind of confused if i already ask that person because for some of them, i’m not familiar with them.
3. Your biggest success of the week.
My biggest success of the week is i was able to make an edublog page right away because i already know how to do it and i’ve done it before.
4. Goal for next week.
My goal for next week is to see where the location of the equipments/tools we’re going to use for 3d arts, so i won’t have hard time finding things when i have to.
