What aspects of your work are successful? Explain why.
The school Instagram has been able to remain very active. New posts are being made almost everyday. The number of followers has grown a lot in these couple months. This has allowed the account to become more involved with the school. More clubs such as Rapid Change and the R.A.K. club are using @rapidevent as their outlet to the school community.
What aspects of your work is challenging? Explain why.
One of the biggest challenges is maintaining an active presence on social media. There would be days where there wouldn’t be anything relevant to post. Any big events or activities would already have a recent post uploaded. The struggle was finding something to fill these spots that would still be of value to the student body.
What steps did you take to overcome these challenges / what adjustments did you need to make?
To overcome this challenge, we sought out more people that could benefit from @rapidevent. For example, we reached out to Ms. Rochelle about the University visits. Whenever a University scheduled an information meetings, she would email us all the information so that we could create a post. This allowed us to keep up the volume of posts while still being informative and relevant.
Is there anything you can do improve? (with your approach to the project, or altering the project)
I believe there is still a lot of potential for this account. @rapidevent does a great job at keeping students informed but I want it to start to showcase the school and its community as well. Riverside is a digital school therefore it’s important that Riverside, like its student, is able to showcase itself online as well.
Do you have any feedback or suggestions, as we move forward, that could help the Tech Team meet the needs of our school and staff?
I want the Tech Team to become more involved with the school. I way this could be improved is through better advertising on how to contact us as well as the useful things we can do to help.
