Information fluency questions

~What questions did you need to research in order to research your topic?

  1. What is sand compatible with?
  2. How do animals use sand?
  3. Have humans created sand?
  4. What is liquid sand?
  5. What is sand made from?

~What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?

I used Gale mostly but I did also use Google to answer simple questions.

~What was the process you used to investigate the topic?

I think I just kept reading articles and searching the internet until I found what I was looking for.

~How did you verify and cite the information you found?

I used Gale for my research, so therefor it was already cited and verified. When navigating Google, I simply asked questions that you would know could e found anywhere. On top of that, I have made sure to check all the websites on Google to see who they are written by and also the quality of the source.

~How did the process of completing this challenge go? What could you have done better?

I think that this challenge went pretty well. I think the one challenge was, was that I had to come up with a deep level thinking question and I have never done one of those before. I think next time I could have just asked for help a bit sooner so I didn’t have to feel concerned about the time I had to gather my sources.

Core competency reflection

~Which core competency did you develop during this assignment?

I think I developed my creative thinking during this assignment because I think I took a lot of risks by asking questions and really challenging myself.

~What are you strengths within this competency?

I think my strength would be generating ideas. I think that I ca generate ideas quickly when needed.

~How did you grow this competency?

I grew this competency by developing ideas. Before the Wonder Project, I was asking very shallow questions. By the end of this assignment, I was asking deep level thinking questions.

~How could you further develop this competency?

Even though I have been asking deep level thinking questions I think that I could probably deepen my questions even more.
