The Watch by Elie Wiesel

I walk into the camp and a stale smell carries over throughout the air. I see a skinny figure standing, a man. His stomach so small and tight his ribs are poking through. A wave of silence hits the men lying down as my figure becomes seen to them. Guilt runs through my veins when I see the pain that these men have been through. Guilt that I could not save them earlier, and that they have suffered. With all of their bold eyes looking up on me I feel finally as if I have done some good with my life, I rescued them.

Three Reasons Why I Hate Bob Ewell

We all know Bob Ewell as the stubborn, abusive drunk that beats on his kids when intoxicated. Remember those playground bullies when we were young in kindergarten that would make us wanna scream when they came near you? Usually they were taller then the rest and were funny looking and smelly. Imagine that but 10x more dirty and mean. Thats Bob Ewell. The hatred I have for Bob Ewell is so strong and this is why;

1. He is abusive to his children, and is overall a nasty, cruel man

Bob Ewell has been known for his aggressiveness when he is under the influence of alcohol. He beat up his own poor daughter Mayella, and then didn’t even have the audacity to call a doctor after to make sure she was okay.
Bob was so messed up that he even had the courage to spit on Atticus because he pled for Tom Robinson, when; 1. That was his job, and 2. Tom was never guilty!!!
Lastly, he took it even further and tried to kill poor Jem and Scout. What sane person would ever try to kill 2 innocent, kids when they are walking home from a pageant.

2. He Accused an innocent man for raping his daughter

Bob is a racist drunk. His hatred for the African American culture is so strong that he beat up his own daughter, then blamed the poor, innocent Tom Robinson for doing it, which cause Tom Robinson to go through much trauma and eventually die.

3. His Children will most likely become just as crule as him

Bob places a horrible example for his kids to follow. He doesn’t care if they go to school, he is a drunk who spends all his money on alcohol, and he is very abusive. Just the fact that he shows no value in education to his kids proves that his children will grow up to think just like Bob. His son for example, went to school for one day and was so cruel and mean that he made the teacher cry. His children are also very dirty and not taken care of, as they have bugs in their hair.
