anime piano player

Piano Player – by Alyson Vance

Ringing through the theatre

The notes he plays echo,

Bouncing off the bodies of the audience

Everyone watching him play

His fingers move fast,

His notes trying to keep up

The music like a powerful wind

Rushing through everyone

His music fills he auditorium

Each note representing a part of his personality

Fast, flowing, fiery, fierce

The notes fly off his sheet like a whirlwind of magnificent colours

Dancing, dangling above his head

The notes circle around him, then flow inside him

He flys around the theatre,

He fills the ears of his listeners with joy

Happiness, passion

…Music.

Path of life drawing

The Road not Taken – by Robert Frost

The Road not Taken is a sad, yet relatable struggle that everyone goes through eventually. Choosing a path, (whether it be a life, career, or any decision) is a very hard thing to do at times. Especially when the choice you make could affect you for the rest of your life. This poem, by Robert Frost, captures the beauty and hardship of life’s biggest challenges. It is a closed poem, rhyming, and has four stanzas. The metaphor, “two roads diverged in a yellow wood” is interpreted as “two paths and/or choices” that one has to make in life. The speaker in this poem, whoever it may be, says “and sorry I could not travel both” meaning that they are sad that they have to make only one choice and they can’t choose both paths to go down. Though at the end, they say “I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” From that, it is revealed that they are happy with the decision that they chose in the end, and that has made all the difference in their take on life. The message that this poem can be thought to have is that often in life’s many journeys, you will be faced with multiple different opportunities. Though at the time you may feel conflicted and stressed, in the end you will come to find the best decision you could have made.
