Oh, well
Oh, well they say
Oh, well they proclaim
Oh, well there goes a generation down the drain
Destroyed by the screens that now divide us
Where our hearts rather be filled with
Its rings, and dings
Because we’re too afraid of stings of reality
Transfixed by feeling we get
When our photos get liked and our opinions get shared
We validate numbers more than anything now
They used to say “quality over quantity”
But oh, well I guess that no longer applies
Because now we follow by “the more the merrier”
Although in some cases this may be true
We’ve taken this saying and gone too far
Because since when are the “friends” upon your screen
More important than those in your sight
Since when is the family right in front of us
Not worthy of our love and attention
But what happens to be worthy
Is our phone’s, TV’s or any sort of screens
Oh, wait I was wrong
We do show our family lots of love and attention
In order to receive these things
Oh, well I guess we do what we need to do in order to get what we want
We no longer know how to deal with confrontations
We’ve gotten so used to just clicking our problems away
It is now hard to keep a face to face conversation up
Because all the confidence we had behind the screen
Is now gone and now we are left with not knowing how to speak
Oh, well I guess we no longer need human interactions
We are no longer living
Those who are alive might as well be dead
Yes, you have a pulse, yes you have a heart, yes you are moving
But no, you are not living
Justify your actions all you want
I bet you everyone around you will just mind their business
And sit and stair and say
Oh, well
