There are some different ways where there is an easier way to find the product of two binomials rather that multiplying them using distribution.
One of the ways to do it quicker is when there is a binomial with a addition sign times a binomial with a subtraction sign, therefore it is a conjugate. The answer would always be minus in these types of questions. The numbers would be multiplied to get the answer. There is no x because it cancels itself out, for example +8x – 8x = 0x
For example:(x + y)(x – y) = x^2 – y^2
or
(x + 5)(x – 5) = x^2 – 25

Just so you are clear, conjugate are more than just one binomial having a minus and the other having a plus sign. In the example is NOT an example of conjugates, so the “pattern” you described would not apply.
Any other patterns? Visual?
