Universities should lower GPA requirements and base admissions on other factors for students entering post-secondary.  Admission requirements should be less about grades or a student’s GPA and more about the student’s personality.  Writing a personalized essay about yourself should be weighted higher than GPA.  Writing a personalized essay describing yourself could open discussions about why you are a better candidate for the course than another student.  It is a good idea for universities to accept applications from students with good attitudes that will go represent the school in a positive way.  Using a system that takes students personalities into consideration may make the university feel safer and friendlier to other students.  GPA should be used to show work ethic when applying to post-secondary schools. Work ethic is important to in determining students that will attend and pass courses.  Having students with good work ethic is a benefit to the university, because their graduates will likely be more successful, which will make more students want to enroll.  There would be a higher pass to fail ratio, the students were chosen due to work ethic.  GPA is important in finding student with good work ethic because people with high GPAs usually have good work ethic.  The subject that a student is wanting to enroll in should determine the entry requirements.  Courses based around mathematics and science should still require high GPAs, but courses like business and art requirements should be based on the student’s personality.  GPA and work ethic should be taken into consideration for hard courses like health sciences and applied sciences; thus, the hardworking, smart students can enroll in high level courses.  Art and business course requirements should allow students to apply based on their personality.  Trade schools should use a mix of work ethic, personality, and previous experience.  Instead of using GPA for applications, universities should use a combination of personality, work ethic, and GPA.
